Terms of Service

About these terms

Kilnbook is made and run by one person, through my company Channel Blue AB (org.nr 559601-4653). These terms are an agreement between you and Channel Blue AB. By using Kilnbook you agree to them. Questions go to seb@kilnbook.com.

Who can use Kilnbook

  • You must be at least 16 years old.
  • You sign in with a Google account, and you are responsible for keeping it secure.

Your content

You own what you put into Kilnbook — your entries, notes, recipes and photos. You give Channel Blue AB permission to store it, process it and show it to you and to the people you share it with, only as needed to run the service.

Content added to a shared library is visible to that library's members, and the library's owner can edit or remove it.

What you add to a library someone else owns becomes part of that library. If you leave it, are removed from it, or lose permission to edit, what you added stays there and you can no longer change or delete it yourself — the owner decides what happens to it. Members can also copy entries, photos included, into their own libraries. A copy is separate from the original and is not removed when the original is. So only add to a shared library what you are comfortable leaving with its members.

Your name and any other personal data in what you added are still covered by your rights under the Privacy Policy, including the right to ask for them to be erased.

How personal data is handled is described in the Privacy Policy.

What to upload

Kilnbook is for documenting ceramic work: pieces, glaze tests, materials and firings. Photos should show work you made, or work you have permission to photograph and share. Please don't upload photos in which people can be recognised.

What you may not do

  • Upload anything illegal.
  • Upload content you do not have the rights to share, such as other people's photos.
  • Upload photos of people who can be recognised.
  • Try to access data or libraries you have not been given access to.
  • Interfere with the service or use it in a way that harms other users.

Suspension

Accounts that break these terms may be suspended or closed. Unless it is urgent, or the content is illegal, you will get an email first explaining why, and a chance to reply before anything happens. If your account is closed, you can still ask for a copy of your data.

Price

Kilnbook can be used for free, within the limits shown on the Pro page. Kilnbook Pro is a paid plan that lifts them. Prices include VAT.

If Pro ends, nothing you have added is deleted. You keep access to all of it, but can only add more within the free limits.

Pro is not yet for sale on the site. Before it is, this section will describe billing, cancellation and your right of withdrawal.

Kilnbook is still being built

Kilnbook is under active development. Features may be added, changed or removed — including features that are part of a paid plan — and the service may sometimes be unavailable while work is done on it.

If a change significantly reduces what your paid plan includes, you will be told by email at least 30 days before it happens. You can then cancel, and get back what you have paid for the time that remains.

The service is provided as is

I work to keep Kilnbook available and your data safe, but it is run by one person and provided "as is", without guarantees that it will always be available or free of errors.

Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under Swedish law. Beyond those rights, Channel Blue AB is not liable for indirect losses, and its total liability to you is limited to what you have paid for Kilnbook in the 12 months before the claim. None of this limits liability for loss caused intentionally or through gross negligence.

Changes to these terms

These terms will change as Kilnbook develops. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. Significant changes will be announced by email or in Kilnbook before they take effect, at least 30 days in advance. If you don't accept them, you can stop using Kilnbook.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Swedish law. If something goes wrong, please email seb@kilnbook.com first — most things can be sorted out that way. If not, as a consumer you can take the dispute to the National Board for Consumer Disputes (Allmänna reklamationsnämnden, arn.se), and otherwise disputes are settled by Swedish courts.
